Why it is funny

The joke is not that Mom gets confused but that the reader sees more than she does: every line meant for Dad lands in her son’s chat. The sign-off with the spoken "period" brings back the very first gag and closes the story on its own.

How to make it yours

Swap Tom and the meatballs for whatever happens in your own kitchen: what matters is that the lines meant for Dad are short and arrive in a burst. Keep the sign-off as it is, the joke does not close without it.

Every chat here is fiction. Any resemblance to real people is coincidental.

Turn a funny chat into a video

A funny conversation lands well in a short vertical video. Pick how the chat should look, or send the script to the bot and get a finished MP4.
