How it works
An ordinary shift leads to an address that does not exist. The order date moves the story out of the present and into the past, and the car stays in the courtyard.
How to make it yours
The character needs an everyday reason to go, here the fee for cancelling. For your version use the real mechanics of your own job: a taxi, a plumber’s call-out, a grocery delivery. Set the order date fifteen or twenty years back, to match the old song on the radio, and never explain what happened then. Keep the order of the ending: first "courier did not arrive", then the date, and only then that he cannot get out. Put the longest pause after "Driving", when the viewer has just relaxed.
